Built 1873by J Caird & Co with a length of 120m and a beam of 14m; a 3382-ton liner owned by the Hamburg Amerika Line.

 

Sunk on 25 Nov. 1878, in collision with iron hulled barque Moel Eillian. Four out of nine lifeboats were destroyed in the collision, sinking in just 20 minutes, 48 passengers and crew were lost.

 

Extensively broken up, parts deck of are still intact, bows to the East, lying on her port side. Silver coins and gold have been recovered from the passenger accommodation. Lots of clock mechanisms in the holds.
