Diving in Malta and Gozo

There are some amazing dives around Malta and Gozo.

Not least, the world famous Blue Hole.

Down in this huge hole, at about 12 metres is an incredible arch through to the open sea….

From here you can swim on through the Azure Window and to the beautiful walls beyond.

Just a few hundred metres away is an even better dive site………

... the Inland Sea (rated by Jacque Cousteau as one of the top ten dives in the world!!)

The tunnel through to the sea is about 80 metres long and about 25 metres deep.

The tourists whiz through overhead in little wooden boats…

oblivious to the mind blowing view beneath them…………

Some other noteworthy dives are HMS Maori in Valetta harbour…

(she is well broken up, but still a lovely dive)

And the tug 'Rozi' at Cirkewwa,

which, as you can see, she is usually teaming with fish..

Not forgetting the incredible Um El Faroud, a 10,000 tonne tanker, shown here just before sinking .

But a much better sight now, nestled on the sand at 35 metres.

And Malta's latest treat for divers!

P29, a Kondor Class former Minesweeper/Patrol Boat
