Training - Boat Diver Speciality
Now that you are an open water diver you will want to join in the benefits of
boat diving. This course gives you the opportunity to experience the
exhilaration of diving in the open sea from a hard boat or a Rib without the
need for a long walk to a shore entry followed by a long swim to the dive site.
The techniques needed to dive from a boat may be very different to those you may
have learnt on your Open Water or Advanced Open Water courses. It is essential
that you have the knowledge and special skills needed to enjoy the pleasure of
boat diving safely.
What is involved: This course covers the planning, organisation,
procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of boat diving, including proper
boat diving etiquette, storage of personal equipment, personal conduct and
considerations for the care of the boat. It will make you familiar with the
basic and common boat terminology and the specifics of boat diving entry and
exits to and from the water.
On completion of the course you will be awarded the PADI Boat Diver Speciality award. The Boat Diver Speciality can be accredited as one of the five speciality ratings a diver has to attain to achieve the highest non-instructional qualification on the PADI curriculum - Master Scuba Diver.
Course Prerequisite: Open Water Diver (or Junior. Open Water) or equivalent.
